My Journey to Health: Week 2

Week two of my postpartum weight loss has been more challenging than last week. If I’m being completely transparent, it seems I have lost a bit of motivation. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been exercising as much this week as I did last. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been sleeping as well — I don’t usually sleep well when my husband is away. I’m sure there are a lot of reasons but either way, I KNOW I WANT THIS and because of that, I am not stopping! Consistency is key, after all, mamas. This week also proves that we need to pay attention to our bodies and not just focus on what the scale says. I’ve lost inches this wee but gained weight. You may…

My Journey to Health: Week 1

Well mamas, week one of my journey to health is complete and I am feeling great! The beginning of the week started off rough with sugar cravings and exhaustion, but by the end of the week I began to feel great. The most significant change I have seen is the bloat around my midsection disappear. I am feeling so much thinner already! Along with following a meal plan, I have also been exercising and I’m so happy to already be seeing results! I found an amazing home workout that pushes me and leaves me feeling sore, and I’m so excited about it! I realize I have a long way to go but I’m so excited to finally be taking a step in the right direction.…

    Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe

If you know me, you know my favorite thing on earth is waking up and watching the sunrise from my plant room, while enjoying my morning espresso. In a perfect world, I would do this every morning and then make my sweet potato hash, but if I’m being real, my mornings are chaos more often than not. Between making bottles and kids’ breakfasts and prepping for homeschooling, making myself breakfast usually ends up being last priority. This is when my green smoothie bowl comes in handy! It’s delicious, healthy, and so fast! For us busy mamas, it doesn’t get much better than this! With the options and possibilities limitless, this is a great recipe for any palette preference. Daily Expectations Chart

One of the most important thing we can do, as mamas, is to instill confidence and independence into our children. They should know, at even a young age, they are capable and strong; that their help is valuable and they are important. When my third baby was born, I quickly realized how challenging it would be to keep up on everything around the house while my husband was working. Between daily tasks and picking up after my two older kids; it was too much. I needed a way to hold my two older kids accountable for the tasks I knew they were capable of doing, while also creating a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Each chart contains the following: Get dressedBrush…

10 Ways to Help in the Midst of Coronavirus

In light of the current events happening globally, I felt compelled to share ways in which we can help each other and ourselves not only be more successful and but to also feel extremely loved. As moms and Christians, we know it is our job to spread the Word of God, but what we tend to forget is that we are also called to live as Jesus lived. We are called to be like Him; to be kind and gentle-hearted, to be givers not takers, speakers of encouragement and wisdom. We are to show love and grace, just as he so lovingly extended grace upon us. During these difficult times, there are some things we can do to not only help ourselves but to also…

    The Absolute Best Chicken Salad

Something I told myself years ago, after searching for recipes time and time again, is that if I were to ever publish one of my own, I wouldn’t discuss my whole life story and leave the recipe all alone at the bottom of the page. I spend way too much time scrolling past the blogger’s hard work as I am panicking to find the one remaining ingredient, all while my kitchen is one glance away from exploding or burning down or boiling over, which is my specialty. I’ll keep this short and sweet. This recipe is by the award winning chef, Jean Yves Vendeville, who is the Culinary Arts Instructor at Savannah Technical College. I had the privilege of attending a cooking class held by…
